1) Why would people of Benwick know you?
As husband of Dawn and father of four. I am also a parent governor at the school, coach the BAFC U7's and sit on the village hall committee.
2) What is your earliest memory of Benwick?
When viewing, how idyllic it looked during the Indian Summer, how welcoming everyone at the school and playgroup were. When we moved in, how bloody cold this place is in the middle of winter..
3) Favourite Band / Singer?
At the moment, Rush, Green Day and Evanescence.
4) Marmite: Love it or Hate It?
Hate it !!!!
5) What do you like to do in your spare time?
The opposite of what my wife asks me to do. Unfortunately it doesn’t normally pan out that way. .
6) What is the last book you read?
One Soldier’s War in Chechnya – Arkady Babchenko
7) Favourite holiday destination?
Anywhere where my kids can have fun and Dawn and I can relax with some vino. Sun, sand, sea and pool is also good. Pre-kids, Lugano.
8) What is your favourite hobby?
Coaching BAFC U7s.
9) What is your favourite thing about Benwick?
The views across the fields. In summer, it can be like looking at an ocean as the crops sway, and in winter the black mud, rain and clouds all merging into one can be equally stunning.
10) What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?
I’d invest in property. The Village Hall seems a prime piece of Benwick real estate, surely a bargain at £750K…..allegedly.
11) What made you get involved with the Village Hall Committee?
A question I often ask myself!
12) Where is the worst place you have lived?
In the UK, nowhere. Through work I’ve had to spend some time in some pretty
horrible places compared to the UK, so from that list probably Owu or Ibadan,
not because of the people, but the conditions.
13) If you had £500 to give to charity - who
would you give it to and why?
Marie Curie – They were fantastic looking after my aunt when she was fighting cancer.
14) What item could you not live without and why?
Two items, food and water. Without them I’d die.
15) Do you think Benwick has any major problems, if so what are they?
Benwick is not in a war zone or the third world, so we don’t have major problems. People tend to forget how blessed they are to live here. Of the issues that Benwick faces, the one that I find most annoying is speeding through the village
16) Tea or Coffee?
Tea first thing, then coffee during the day, tea during the evening
17) What made you move to Benwick?
Too many children to live down south. Actually, we did think our children would have a better childhood in Benwick than some of the other places we looked at. So far I think we’ve been proved right.
18) What was the last thing you bought?
Socks for the kids.
19) What made you get involved with the School Governing Body?
Benwick has a great school that allows children to develop and flourish. Why would you not want to be involved in helping maintain that?
20) What would you like to be remembered for?
Providing my kids remember me fondly and as a good dad, I don’t really care.
