1) Why would people of Benwick know you?
I have been head of Benwick Primary school since September 2002
2) What is your earliest memory of Benwick?
I used to drive through Benwick on my way to Doddington when I was a teacher at Lionel Walden. I always thought it would be a nice place to live.
3) Favourite Band / Singer?
I like lots of different types of music. At the moment I like Scouting for Girls ( how young am I ) I also really like a bit of Frank Sinatra
4) Marmite: Love it or Hate It?
Love it
5) What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spare time? I do enjoy socialising with friends - my favourite place is Mrs. Devall’s conservatory with a nice vodka and coke
6) What is the last book you read?
The Hitchhikers wife - I read lots and lots of books in the month of August
7) Favourite holiday destination?
Italy - I am in the process of convincing Malc that's where he wants to go in the summer
8) What is your favourite hobby?
I do a Suduko every night !
9) What is your favourite thing about Benwick?
The school! I am very proud of our school. The children are great and the support from our parents is brilliant. I also have the opportunity to work with very committed staff governors and friends. I am leaving for pastures new in September, however I am a village girl and will still support our school.
10) What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?
My house! followed by a holiday home in Italy
11) What attracted you to the Headmistress job at Benwick School?
The distance from home!
12) Where is the worst place you have lived?
Liverpool - I taught in Liverpool for a year when I qualified as a teacher and soon realised city life is not for me ! Liverpool is fine its cities I don't like
13) If you had £500 to give to charity - who would you give it to and why?
Scope .
14) What could you not live without and why?
My phone - I talk to friends all the time
15) Do you think Benwick has any major problems, if so what are they?
Not really - I think Benwick is great ! I do think traffic is a problem at the moment with the Forty Foot closed.
16) Tea or Coffee?
Coffee
17) What made you move to Benwick?
I was working at Doddington and wanted to be closer to work
18) What was the last thing you bought?
A pint of milk
19) What is your favorite Breakfast cereal?
Special K - only because I am dieting again! My favourite breakfast is a massive fry up
20) What would you like to be remembered for?
I am hoping that someone will name a bridge after me. I have my eye on the bridge on Whittlesey Road. I want a big plaque - Gill's Bridge - and generations to say who was Gill - maybe I should put it to the Parish Council?...
If that doesn’t happen. I hope my girls, AJ and Ella, remember me as a good mum - that will do for me!
