The Friends of Benwick Church
The Friends of Benwick Church have been fundraising over the past years, with the hop of seeing a new church built in the village. They hold various events and fundraisers throughout the year, such as the August Bank Holiday Picnic and Duckrace, and the Christmas Bazaar.
They have managed to raise over £130,000 towards the construction of a new building.
Benwick Church Services
Benwick is now part of Doddington Church, as is Wimblington. There is a service held each week in the Village Hall.
Easter Services:
Palm Sunday (5th April) - Morning Prayer
Eater Sunday (12th April) - Holy Communion
Sunday May 3rd - Holy Communion
This will be updated when full times have been recieved for normal services.
The New Church
Over the years, there have been many different plans for a Church in Benwick, from building a new one on the site of St. Mary's, then there was the plan to build on the site of the Baptist Chapel. Unfortunatly, these plans fell through for a number of reasoins, and at current, it looks set that a Church building will be constructed next to the Village Hall.
