Its rare that Benwick ever makes big news; but it managed to make the front cover of the May 30th 1947 issue of the Daily Express.

Below is the article telling of the time when a bailiff came to remove Miss Elizabeth Foster and her sister Ida from their home down Lilyholt Road; which was then the Back Road. Elizabeth Foster was a school teacher for years, and can be seen with many classes on the school photos page and her sister Ida ran a shop down the High Street.
